We are thrilled to share some exciting news from the recent National Wine Awards of Canada, where our wines received recognition with several medals. Our 2020 Merlot was awarded a Silver medal, while both our 2023 Pinot Blanc and 2023 Riesling Dry have proudly received Bronze medals. These accolades reflect the dedication and skill of our hard-working team, and we are proud to showcase them in our tasting room!
The 2020 Merlot, currently being poured in the tasting room, is big, bold and balanced. Beautiful fruits with toasty vanilla and mocha on the finish; a glass paired with a square of rich dark chocolate will send anyone to paradise. Also available for tasting is our 2023 Pinot Blanc. Crisp and fresh, this one is perfect for light summer meals on the patio. Tasting room associate Pam loves pairing it with Caesar salad and prawns for an easy weeknight meal. Released in July, this one is already running low in stock so make sure to stock up before it’s gone!
2023 Riesling Dry remains a wine club exclusive, so stay tuned for its release!
Vineyard Update
We’re pleased to provide a positive update on our vineyards. We very fortunately experienced minimal vine loss over the winter and are currently focussing our efforts on rehabilitating the vineyard. Our estate is green, with more signs of life than we first anticipated. A handful of Merlot vines bordering the picnic area surprised us recently; previously thought to be lost, they suddenly started pushing buds in mid-July. While our overall yield will be minimal, we expect to produce a limited amount of our flagship Riesling in 2024. We hope for a return to regular production soon and remain grateful for the resilience of our vines!

Don’t forget that you can join us on Wednesdays to savour a delectable array of gourmet grilled cheese and other expertly crafted handhelds by Bread & Cheese Co. food truck! You can indulge in these delightful offerings right in our cozy picnic area, surrounded by the vineyard and paired with your favourite Four Shadows wines! The truck is at the winery on Wednesdays from 11:30-2pm!
